The role
Search is entering a new era, shaped by AI-generated answers, social discovery, and increasingly competitive commercial SERPs.
We’re looking for a Senior SEO Manager to help lead Uswitch through this fast-changing landscape, ensuring we maintain our strong position.
This role will own the strategic direction of organic growth across some of the UK’s most competitive commercial categories. You’ll be accountable not just for rankings, but for revenue impact, market share growth, and long-term organic defensibility.
You will sit at the intersection of SEO, Product, and Commercial strategy, ensuring search is embedded into how we build, prioritise, and scale our products.
This is a high-impact role, reporting into the Head of SEO and Content, which is perfect for someone who wants to shape the future of search within a major consumer brand.
N.B - This role is suitable for people looking for Account Director level roles in an agency model.
What you'll be doing
Organic Growth Strategy and Commercial Impact
Define and lead the organic strategy aligned to revenue, customer acquisition, and category growth targets
Identify defensible growth opportunities across technical, content, AI, and social search ecosystems
Translate competitive landscape shifts into clear strategic priorities.
Technical SEO and Product Integration
Embed SEO into product development cycles and roadmap planning
Lead advanced technical initiatives across site architecture, indexing, rendering, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and crawl efficiency
Use log file analysis, crawl diagnostics, and automation to proactively optimise how search engines & LLMs interact with the site.
AI-Driven and Emerging Search Strategy
Shape Uswitch’s strategy for AI-generated search experiences and LLM-driven discovery
Optimise structured content and information architecture for generative search visibility
Identify and test growth opportunities across social search platforms and emerging discovery channels
Implement AI-enabled workflows to scale SEO insight, optimisation, and reporting.
Performance Intelligence and Automation
Work with analyst teams to enhance performance dashboards and automated insight systems
Monitor algorithm updates, ranking volatility, and crawl behaviour to mitigate risk.
Leadership and Influence
Act as the senior SEO authority across the business
Influence senior stakeholders with clear, commercially grounded recommendations
Champion a culture of experimentation, testing, and continuous optimisation.
What we're looking for
Proven experience leading SEO strategy within a competitive, large-scale digital business
Demonstrable success driving organic growth tied directly to commercial outcomes
Advanced technical SEO expertise and experience working closely with engineering teams
Strong analytical capability, comfortable modelling opportunity and interpreting large data sets
Experience using log files, crawl data, and automation tools to inform strategy
Understanding of how AI and social platforms are reshaping discovery
Confident communicator who can influence at senior levels
Strategic thinker who balances long-term defensibility with short-term wins.
